This is a Year 9 English Shakespeare SATs revision podcast, focusing on Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’. The podcast gives an outline and details of the plot, characters and themes of the play and a detailed analysis of Act 1, Scene 2, lines 189 - 321.

The podcast was created by a group of fourteen year 9 pupils at Parkfield High School working at the City Learning Centre. The objective was to teach and help support the learning and revision of this new play for the 2007 SATs examination.

Fantastic ! I am also a teacher looking for information on The Tempest to help prepare our year 6 for a theatre trip. I agree with Mr Karlsson’s comment and am also going to make my pupils listen for homework. Well done to everyone involved in this project.

i am studing the tempest at the moment and have my sats next week, and i still find it difficult. we have done practice tests in class and i havent done very well, but this pod has really helped my understanding of it—well done

hiya this is kate and i have been doing the tempest and it is very hard i have been struggling at it then one day i cameinto the computer room and typed in shakespeare the tempest key scenes and i came up with this and it helped me alot well a little bit but i still dont get the tempest it is coplecated. i know it but it is hard to anserw the questions. but i am learnig pulls i have got my sats next week and i need to learn the tempest quick or i would get low marks
i think that this site is good but it could be better like change the colour of the sites like pink or another nice colourthanks for reading x x x

I thought this was pretty useless. It sounded very unprofessional and drooned on. It didnt make it fun or remotely interesting and didnt help me in the slightest.

i think that the tempest should not have been chosen for the exams and that either romeo and juliet or macbeth had been chosen because the tempest is supposed to be a comedy and it is not the slightest bit funny or entertaining. so next time please do us all a favour and do something a bit more entertaining

I actually did know all this, I was hoping for some more tips with answering the sat question the tempest actually, but oh well. I do think that it’s a very good way to summarise the tempest for those who are still unsure. English sats start tomorrow :s.. Good luck everyone!

Hi, i’m from Derbyshire, and happened to come across your podcast.

I am very critical, sorry. It’s my nature.

I believe the music at the start is unnessacary.
The sentences of each pupil could have been made faster, by cutting the waiting time before each phrase of a sentence.
More emphasis could’ve been used.

However, apart from that. I think overall i give it a 7/10 :)
